 My name is Greta and I live in Ellenton, Florida with my hubby- Richard, our girls- Allyson 17 and Haley 10.5, our 2 cats- Fred and Ricky, our 2 turtles- Squirt and Biscotti and 7 rats. YES, 7 rats. Daisy and Flower are the originals. Daisy just had 5 babies. She was PG when we got her from the pet store, little did we know. Babies will be going to new homes in a few weeks.
I have always been busy "doing" with my hands. I began my sewing career, thanks to my Grandma, when I was 4 years old. I would sit for hours (or so it seemed) sewing buttons onto fabrics. Through the years Grandma taught me more and more. I made beaded jewelry in the 60's and 70's. When I was in Junior High I took Home Economics (obviously this was in the stone age since this is no longer offered) and learned alot more about sewing. I was making my own clothes in junior high and high school.
I became a first time Mommy July 8, 1990 with the arrival of Allyson. Our 2nd bundle of joy, Haley, BURST into our lives December 12, 1996. I made ALOT of my girls clothes, socks and hair baubles, as well as their bibs and blankets when they were babies. Allyson had a friend, Carolyn, whose Mommy Susan launched my sewing career with Friends of The Sea Otter located on Cannery Row in California. I made all their children's clothing and accessories for about 7 years.
The fun has continued to grow. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything- hair scrunchies, fimo beads, rubber stamping, notecards, picture frames, you name it- I've tried it.
My claim to fame has to be my beaded socks. I have been making beaded socks for about 15 years and started selling them on eBay in 1999 ... on a dare! 7+ fun years later and here we are! Yes, we !!!! I could not have done this without all of you!!!
